2024 January
We are almost completely moved into our new home in Venetian Isles. Joan has begun to meet some new friends and is visiting often with Roberta, a lovely lady across the street. Stu talks often with our next door neighbor, Warren.
The activities are enjoyable and frequent. The just-opened clubhouse features a series of shows we have yet to attend. Before each show is a full course dinner catered by the in-house dining staff. The meals are large, well prepared and nicely served. We are slowly meeting dinner companions to make the meals even more enjoyable.
Both Joan and Stu attend a weekly discussion group whenever we are in town. Politics, retirement ideas, health as we age, visiting our grandkids represent only a few of the topics. While the discussions are often opinionated, they are polite and neighborly. Stu has attended many of this type of group starting in his grad school days in political science. The various topics intrigue him, leading to long periods of study as he prepares for his turn at moderating. Joan frequently joins in, expressing her opinion to a group that has a balanced gender and political mix.
RV Travel
We continue to travel in Winnie, our 25′ Coachman travel trailer. This year we are planning on a mid-life refresh for Winnie, with new counter tops and a conversion to induction cooking.
In early March we met Rebecca and her family at the SPLASH RV Resort in Pensacola. Rebecca planned this trip near the midpoint between our homes so we could meet, visit, and help us enjoy the grandkids.
